We were full of trepidation and determination. It was our first day of college and the start of a journey to a new and exciting future. A group of us went on to university. Though not all our pathways were the same we would meet up for lunch. Val was a very intelligent young woman and excelled at her studies. She had a wicked sense of humour , often having us all in stitches. Always a kind word and a ready smile. Her sunny nature drew people to her. Val will be sadly missed by her family and friends and my heart goes out to the family she loved so much.
